The Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, Office for Nutrition, Health and Safety Programs would like to acknowledge the efforts of the members of University of Massachusetts, Amherst community and the many school district professionals who contributed to this comprehensive professional development resource for school nutrition personnel.
Benefitting from a long relationship with the UMass Nutrition Extension Program and the Labor/Management Workforce Education Program, Massachusetts has become the first state to provide targeted online interactive school nutrition training, foundation skills training, and Training of Trainer workshops to school nutrition personnel.
Also, the SMARTTs projects would be far less of a dynamic and impactful professional development tool without the input, feedback, video footage, and resources provided by the participating schools.
